York Extend Unbeaten Run
07 October 2009 10:19:00

York City extended their unbeaten run in the Blue Square Premier to ten games as they inflicted a first home defeat of the season on Tamworth at The Lamb in the only game played in the Football Conference on Tuesday night.

And City came back from behind too, as Richard Tait headed the Lambs in front from Des Lyttle's cross after 18 minutes but Andy Ferrell hit back for Minstermen 5 minutes before the break.

Ferrell then turned provider, crossing for Richard Brodie to head home just past the hour-mark, before setting up Djoumin Sangare to nod in the third for the visitors 12 minutes from time.

Tait bagged a late second for Tamworth 3 minutes from the end when he got his head to Lyttle's cross, but York held firm to move into fourth spot in the table.
