York City has announced that the Blue Square Premier club’s new main sponsor for season 2009/10 is local York firm, Pryers Solicitors.
Pryers company logo will now appear on the front and back of the Minstermen’s home and away shirts and Pryers will also have a host of ground advertising boards around the KitKat Crescent.
Pryers Solicitors, who specialise in personal injury and clinical negligence, established a relationship with the Minstermen last season and their company logo appeared on the reverse of the purple shirts the Minstermen wore for their FA Trophy Final appearance at Wembley in May.
Commenting on the new partnership, York chairman, Jason McGill said: “We are delighted Pryers Solicitors are York City’s new sponsor and that a local firm has shown the club such great support in this way. We really look forward to forging a strong partnership with Ian Pryer and his team and hopefully we will all enjoy some good football and success this season.”
Ian Pryer of Pryers Solicitors said: “I am very pleased to build on last season’s sponsorship at Wembley and become the main sponsor this season. I appreciate that economically times are not at their easiest for York businesses but this is a time to step forward and support our local team. I have seen how much work goes on behind the scenes at the club and hope that this encourages other businesses to come and get involved.”
York’s new blue away shirt featuring the Pryers logo will be worn by the Minstermen for the first time on Friday night, when the team faces Hartlepool United at home.
York also confirmed previous shirt sponsor CLP Industries Ltd will be continuing their strong relationship with the Minstermen.
The Israeli packaging firm has already committed funds to aid the continuation of City’s youth policy and will be providing further commercial support during the season.
