Luton Town defender George Pilkington has been voted the Blue Square Premier `Player of the Month` for August.
Pilkington was an ever present in a Hatters’ defence that conceded only three goals in the opening six matches of their first Conference campaign.
Pilkington showed his worth at the other end of the pitch with two goals in the 4-1 home victory over fellow promotion chasers Mansfield Town. The Luton defence also kept three clean-sheets in the period.
In the Blue Square South the award goes to Havant & Waterlooville striker Manny Williams.
The former England Schoolboy hit seven goals during the month including a hat trick of braces in the games against Bromley, Bath City and Braintree. His goals fired The Hawks to fourth spot in the table.
Ciaran Kilheeney from Southport has won the award in the Blue Square North.
The striker blazed an early trail for the Sandgrounders, scoring five goals in their opening four games. Southport begin September with third spot in the table.
