Moses Ashikodi signed for Blue Square Premier club Kettering Town just before the transfer window shut.
The 22-year-old, who was a free agent, completed his move to the Elgood's Arena while it was confirmed giant defender Exodus Geohaghon will be staying, despite rumours suggesting he was being lined up for a move.
Ashikodi was a target for Kettering boss Mark Cooper over the summer but chairman Imraan Ladak sealed the deal on transfer deadline day.
The frontman became the youngest player ever to play a game for Millwall when his career first started at the age of 15 and he went on to have spells with West Ham United, Rangers, Watford and most recently Shrewsbury Town.
He was released by the Coca-Cola League Two club at the end of last season.
Ashikodi is set to link up with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday as they prepare for the home clash with Altrincham on Saturday.
And Ladak believes they have made a good signing with the latest addition. "We have been interested in him before but it's only now that we have been able to make the deal happen," he said.
"He has played for some big clubs and also played in an Old Firm game when he was with Rangers.
"There is no doubt about his ability. It's all about trying to get the best out of him.
"If he comes here and performs to his best then there's a chance he might not be here that long because he is capable of playing at a higher level.
"We are very pleased that he has agreed to come."
It is understood there may be a couple of departures in the current squad following the arrival of Ashikodi.
But Geohaghon will be staying, despite rumours during deadline day that Peterborough United were interested in signing the centre half.
