Blue Square Premier club Rushden & Diamonds` midfielder Jake Beecroft will be going out on loan to Blue Square North side Ilkeston Town.
Manager Justin Edinburgh said: “I think Jake just needs to get a run of games for him to be able to press the midfielders that are here for a starting place. So I think its an ideal opportunity for him to go and get up to match speed and be able to come back and compete here.
“I think he’s going to learn more going to Ilkeston because Beeky’s a good football player, but I think he’s got to learn the physical side of the game and how to use his body, how to work an opponent who maybe could dominate him physically.
“We had plenty of enquiries about Beeky and that didn’t surprise me. I’ve got to be first to admit he was outstanding for me when I first took over, played in numerous positions and never let me down.
“We picked it purposely, I’d rather him be in North, being a more physical league. He can pass the ball - he’s got no problems on that side, so it was done for a purpose.”
