Caines Becomes a Harrier
04 August 2009 17:13:00

Blue Square Premier club Kidderminster Harriers are nearing the end of their summer squad rebuilding after completing a deal with Gavin Caines.

Former Cheltenham Town defender Caines has agreed a one-year deal at Aggborough.

Caines began his career as a trainee with Walsall, but without making any first-team appearances he left to sign for Cheltenham in July 2004 after a trial period.

In his time with Walsall he spent an eleven-game spell out on loan at Blue Square North side Stafford Rangers.

In his first full season at Whaddon Road Caines won the young player of the year award and the next season was involved in the clubs promotion to League One.

The Harriers are hoping to confirm two more signings, one of whom is likely to be a goalkeeper.
