Richard Money, manager of Blue Square Premier club Luton Town, has completed his first permanent transaction in the transfer market with the arrival of Matthew Barnes-Homer from league rivals Kidderminster Harriers.
Prolific striker Barnes-Homer, 23, joins initially on a month's loan but after agreeing a two-and-a-half year contract he will make the move permanent when the transfer window re-opens on 1st January.
The deal also sees young striker Ryan Charles go on-loan in the opposite direction for a month.
Birmingham-born Barnes-Homer has been in terrific form in front of goal for Harriers this season as we know only too well after his well-taken effort at Aggborough earlier in the campaign in the Town's 2-1 victory.
After notching twenty-one goals in all competitions last season, the powerful forward has scored nine times in 20 league appearances this term and, since arriving at the Worcestershire club in 2007, has hit an impressive tally of thirty-four goals in seventy-seven starts.
Barnes-Homer also enjoyed a dream start to his international career when he netted the winner on his debut for England `C` in their 2-1 win over Poland earlier this month.
An energetic talent, the front man began his career as a trainee at Wolves before going on to lead something of a nomadic life prior to finding his feet at Kidderminster.
After leaving Molineux he tried his luck in the United States before returning to England and, following success with a clutch of non-league sides, Barnes-Homer was snapped by Wycombe Wanderers.
He struggled to make an impression at Adam Park but, after being released at the end of the 2006/07 season, Harriers manager Mark Yates beat off competition from a host of sides to capture his signature.
