There were two Blue Square North games on Tuesday night and Fleetwood Town`s Sean Clancy certainly enjoyed the freezing weather, netting a hat trick to add more woes to Northwich Victoria`s season to date.
Fleetwood were on top from the first minute, and raced in to a three-goal lead by the interval.
Clancy`s first came on 10 minutes with a snapshot from the edge of the area.
His second came on 33 minutes, this time a drilled shot from close range, and 4 minutes before the break it was game over when Clancy completed his hat trick, having hit the post a few minutes earlier.
It got even worse for after the interval when Mark Danks was sent-off after two bookable offences in quick succession.
The 3-0 win moves Fleetwood into third spot, while Vics remain just a couple of points ahead of the drop zone.
In the other game on Tuesday at the Valley Stadium, Redditch United leap-frogged Northwich after a surprisingly comfortable 3-1 win over play-off chasing AFC Telford United.
The Reds were ahead after only 4 minutes when Jack Byrne thundered a shot into the roof of the net from fully 25 yards.
They extended their lead on 34 minutes when Liam Francis was on hand to slot home from close range after Andy Ducros` initial shot had been cleared.
It was 3-0 on 50 minuteswhen Ducros himself managed to get in on the end of a Matt Blair cross.
Telford did manage to get on the scoresheet late on – Andy Brown nodding into the net after his initial header had rebounded off the bar, but it was scant consolation for their bid for a top five place.
