Blue Square Premier club Kidderminster Harriers are pleased to welcome back Marcus Bignot to the club on non-contract terms until the end of the season.
The versatile 35-year-old defender is back at Aggborough for a second spell, following a hugely successful season at the club in 1996/97 - during which his performances landed him a move to the Football League with Crewe in a deal that went on to fetch the club £100,000.
A former Telford United and Birmingham City youngster, he made fifty-six appearances for Harriers and was capped at England `C` level prior to his move to Gresty Road where he became an instant hit, and player of the season in his first campaign.
After close to 100 games for the Alex he moved on to spend time at Bristol Rovers and QPR (twice), as well as Rushden and Diamonds. A loan turned permanent move to Millwall saw Bignot arrive at his last playing club, but after twenty-three games there he parted company with the New Den outfit on transfer deadline day this year.
Bignot, who also has management experience with Birmingham City Ladies, will provide some much-needed cover for boss Steve Burr during his second time as a Kidderminster player.
Burr said: "Marcus obviously knows a lot about this football club and it is great for us to have him on board - his experience will add to what we already have in the dressing room.
"With the current situation as it is, it was sensible for us to try and bring in some defensive cover, especially for the full-backs, and Marcus will more than give us that."
