Hadley Becomes a Harrier
21 July 2009 09:34:00

Kidderminster Harriers have announced that livewire winger Kyle Hadley has signed a one-year deal with the Blue Square Premier club after impressing on trial.

The 22-year-old has spent the last few weeks training at the club as well as turning out in pre-season games and manager Mark Yates has clearly seen enough.

Local lad Hadley has impressed throughout the local non-League circuit since turning out for Oldhill Town.

After spending two seasons at Lye Town he was spotted by a scout for Stourbridge who wasted no time in signing him up.

He played a major part in getting the Glassboys promoted in his first season there as they secured a place in the Southern Premier Division.

Beginning last season full of promise, he was rocked by injury after breaking his leg in one of the very first games of the campaign.

He was to return later that term, though, and after finishing the last couple of months of the season as well as getting a full pre-season under his belt at Aggborough, it's clear he's fitter, stronger and hungrier than ever.

He netted in the romp at Bromyard Town and has chipped in with a number of assists in the four friendly ties so far.

Hadley makes his first bow into the professional game with Harriers, and Yates was quick to thank those at Stourbridge for allowing the winger to move on.

"I'd like to thank Gary Hackett and Stourbridge for their co-operation in doing the deal - he was due to sign for them next season and they have kindly not stood in his way," he said.

"We much appreciate that and we're delighted to have got something done."
