Eastleigh extended their unbeaten run in Blue Square South to seven games by beating struggling Weston-super-Mare in Wednesday`s re-arranged fixture after the postponement of two weeks ago.
The Spitfires opened their account after 23 minutes when Tont Taggart fired in an unstoppable half-volley past Kevin Sawyer.
The lead was doubled 7 minutes later when Taggart grabbed his second of the night, accepting a an unselfish pass from Shaun McAuley to net after a quick breakaway.
It was virtually game over after 33 minutes when Eastleigh grabbed their third when transfer-listed striker Andy Forbes stabbed home from close range after another McAuley cross.
Weston did manage what proved to be just a consolation in the 67th minute when substitute Josh Klein-Davies got on the end of a Ben Cleverley free kick to score from six yards.
But Eastleigh had already done the hard work and this victory lifts them to within a couple of points of the play-off places.
