Horan Joins Bloods
08 February 2010 14:42:00

Experienced defender and captain George Horan has joined Blue Square North club Droylsden after leaving Principality Welsh Premier side Rhyl last week.

The 27-year-old, who was named in the Welsh Premier managers' team of the season four years running between 2006 and 2009, has been at Belle Vue for the past five seasons.

He started his career at Connah's Quay in season 1999/00 and has made a total of 288 league appearances, scoring twenty-seven goals.

Horan moved to Belle Vue in the 2005 close season and resisted a move to The New Saints in 2008 to remain an integral part of the Lillies' squad that won the league title in April.

He will link-up at the Bloods with former TNS midfielder Steven Beck and striker Kevin Townson, ex-Bangor City, Cefn Druids, TNS and Welshpool frontman Carl Lamb and ex-Bangor and Connah`s Quay Nomads' defender Liam Brownhill, who are all currently at the Butcher's Arms.
