Paul Furlong has joined Blue Square Bet Premier club Kettering Town as player-coach.
The veteran striker made his debut for the Poppies in Tuesday night's 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat by Milton Keynes Dons.
Furlong is still going strong at the age of 41 and featured in over forty games for Barnet in League Two last season.
He fits the bill as the target man that player boss Lee Harper had been looking for and he will also be involved in coaching the rest of the Poppies squad.
Originally with the likes of Enfield and Barnet, Furlong, who won England semi-professional international caps, has enjoyed a glittering career, which saw Chelsea pay Watford £2.3m for his services in 1994.
He later joined Birmingham City for £1.5m and has played for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Luton Town and Southend United since.
