Harper Confirmed as Boss With New Assistant
19 May 2010 18:26:00

Blue Square Bet Premier club Kettering Town have confirmed that Lee Harper has been appointed as manager following his caretaker role for the second half of last season.

Returning to assist Harper and provide cover for the first-team squad is former Blue Square North championship-winning left-back Tommy Jaszczun.

Meanwhile, John Dempster and Sol Davis have put pen-to-paper on two-year deals that will include a club option to extend the contract for a further twelve months.

Dempster and Davis join Marcus Kelly, Jean-Paul Marna, Patrick Nubissie, James Dance and Greg Taylor in committing to at least another year with the Poppies.

Darren Wrack and Damien Spencer also have contracts for next season. The club are in talks with three more of last season’s squad along with several new players who are set to join shortly.

Chairman Imraan Ladak said: “We are all really looking forward to next season and are genuinely excited with the squad being assembled. Lee had one hand tied behind his back last season in terms of budget and he deserves the full backing of the board for the forthcoming season – which is something he will get.

“We have enjoyed an incredible four seasons on the field and we will be doing everything we can to make Kettering an enjoyable and successful experience for all connected to the club next season.

“This is a tough division and I do not want to put too much pressure on Lee and Tommy in their first season together or raise expectations too far but I am confident we will have a good year.

“There was a lot of interest in John Dempster and I am pleased he has decided to stay loyal to Kettering and commit to another two-three years whilst Sol Davis is another big signing, which should indicate the quality we are bringing to the club.”
