Dover Go Third
31 March 2010 08:45:00

Dover Athletic moved up to third in the Blue Square South table with a comprehensive victory at the Beveree against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Dover went into the break two-up, thanks to goals from Jon Wallis after 19 minutes and Olly Schulz right on the half time whistle.

Although the Beavers pulled one back through Louis-Rae Beadle with 18 minutes remaining, Schulz completed his hat trick with two late goals in the 81st and 89th minutes.

A poor `crowd` of 210, Bromley`s lowest league gate of the season so far, saw Thurrock rekindle their play-off hopes following Saturday`s disappointing draw against rock-bottom Weymouth.

Steve Ferguson gave the home side the boost of an early 4th minute lead with a good finish across the keeper.

However, the Essex visitors went on to dominate after that and equalised after 14 minutes with a Kennt Clarke header from a corner.

But it took Thurrock until the 54th minute to go ahead with a close range finish from David Bryant.

On the hour-mark Bromley drew level through Richard Butler, but Thurrock continued to look the most likely and they duly regained the lead on 71 minutes with Leon McKenzie the scorer.

To make matters worse for Bromley, they lost Ryan Hall to a red card late on for a clumsy tackle.
