Redditch Bring in Trio
03 March 2010 11:19:00

Blue Square North club Redditch United have made three new signings to aid their efforts of avoiding the drop.

Worcester City striker Marco Adaggio has joined on a month's loan.

Adaggio (pictured) was City's top scorer last season and is currently joint top marksman at the Blue Square South outfit with Craig Wilding this term.

He was placed on the transfer list last month by manager Carl Heeley and made his Reds debut in Tueaday night's match at his former club Stafford Rangers, who he was with before joining City in August 2008.

Defender Darren Campion, 21, started his career as a youth team player at Birmingham City before being released in 2007 following City's return to the Premier League.

He had trials with Shrewsbury and Hereford, but failed to earn a contract with either.

He then had a trail with Carlisle United, where unlike with his two previous trails, impressed manager Greg Abbott enough for him to sign the defender on a short-term contract until December 2007.

Campion impressed enough to earn another contract until the end of the 2007/08 season and he made his Carlisle debut in April 26th, 2008 at Millwall as a second half substitute.

He was released from his contract by Abbott in January 2009 and has recently been with Redditch`s league rivals Solihull Moors.

Returning to the Valley Stadium is experienced 35-year-old defender or midfielder Matt Gardner.

Since starting his career with Torquay, Gardiner has had three stints at Redditch as well as a couple of stops at Worcester alongside periods with Evesham United, Hereford, Halesowen Town, Stourbridge and Moor Green.
