Striker Chris Holroyd has completed his move from Blue Square Premier club Cambridge United to Brighton.
United's top scorer agreed personal terms and passed a medical with the League One outfit.
To ensure he would be eligible to play for the Seagulls in their home clash with Millwall on Saturday, Holroyd has initially signed loan terms.
But the England `C` international will put pen-to-paper on an eighteen-month deal on Monday with United receiving an undisclosed fee - understood to be £60,000 plus add-ons.
Talks took place with Holroyd last weekend but he did not agree personal terms.
He played for Cambridge on Tuesday and, according to one of his representatives, the deal looked unlikely to go through.
Matters came to a head today when, with the closure of the transfer window looming at 5pm on Monday, Brighton gave Holroyd a deadline to accept their non-negotiable offer.
