Blue Square Premier club Cambridge United have swooped to sign defender David Partridge on a deal to run until June 2011.
The 31-year-old former Welsh international joins the U's following the departure of Wayne Hatswell to Irish side Dundalk at the weekend.
Partridge started his career as an apprentice at West Ham, before joining Dundee United for £40,000 in March 1999.
He made seven full appearances for Wales during the 2005/06 season.
With clubs including Motherwell, Bristol City, Brentford and most recently St Patrick's Athletic, Partridge has also had loan spells with MK Dons and under Martin Ling at Leyton Orient in 2006.
Partridge told cambridgeunited.com: “I'm here to help get Cambridge United back into the Football League. I've played under Martin Ling before and know what a good manager he is.”
Ling added: “He's a full international, experienced and a great talker. He's the left-sided centre half that I've been looking for. He will do a good job for the next 18 months.”
