Three Join Grays
19 January 2010 17:54:00

Goalkeeper Richard Martin has joined Blue Square Premier club Grays Athletic on a month's loan from Yeovil Town.

The 22-year-old has made four appearances for the Coca-Cola League One side this season, three of them coming in cup competitions.

Martin arrived at Huish Park on a permanent deal in the summer.

He began his career as a trainee at Brighton, before joining Manchester City. He has also had a loan spell with Burton Albion.

Earlier Grays re-signed 27-year-old Alex Rhodes from Blue Square South side Braintree Town.

The pacey left-winger began his professional career at Brentford. Short loan spells at Swindon and Grays Athletic followed before a permanent move to Bradford City in 2007, where he scored three times in eleven starts.

Last season he was a regular at Rotherham in the first half of the season before joining Woking on loan.

He joined Oxford in June 2009 and then onto the Iron at the beginning of November.

Also signing a deal until the end of the season is experienced striker Wayne Gray (pictured).

The 29-year-old has spent the last four months or so with Ryman Premier neighbours AFC Hornchurch, who he joined in early October after unsuccessful trials with Rotherham and Exeter after being released by Leyton Orient at the end of last season.

Gray started his career with Wimbledon, where he made seventy-five appearances and also had stints on loan with Swindon, Port Vale, Orient and Brighton.

He moved to Southend in 2004 and then onto Yeovil before signing for the O`s in 2007.

In all he played in over 260 League games.
