Blue Square Premier club Rushden & Diamonds’ 20-year-old central defender Bobby Aisien has gone out on loan to UniBond League Premier Divison side King’s Lynn.
Aisien started his career with Peterborough United as a youth player moving to Wingate & Finchley in 2007.
He was on trial at the Diamonds this summer, playing in the 2-2 draw against Corby Town and the Diamonds XI games against Raunds Town and Brentwood Town. He has also played for the Nigerian under-19s side.
He signed for Rushden & Diamonds in August, with Justin Edinburgh citing him as “as a player for the future, he has done well in pre-season and in training and has done enough to earn himself a place at the football club.”
Diamonds` assistant-manager Michael Stone said: “With Michael Corcoran back from suspension and Simon Downer looking as though he’s on the road to recovery, Bobby just drops down the pecking order slightly and we feel at this stage if we can combine his training, with some competitive first-team minutes then we feel as that will be good for him right now.
“King’s Lynn have a very good set up over there and they run things very professionally so he’ll continue training with us full time and over the next three or four weeks get some minutes which will keep his sharpness there.
“Bobby was always bought in as one for the future rather than perhaps straight away. He came in the squad quite soon due to the injuries we’ve picked up and suspension. So that’s a good opportunity for him to go out there, play some valuable minutes and be knocking on the door here to come back into the squad.”
