Midfielder Kay, 19, a second year professional who spent part of last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, has yet to make his senior bow for the Clarets.
Defender Lynch, 18, is a first year professional who signed terms with the club in the summer.
Kay (pictured) was registered as a first team player in December 2007 and was offered a first year contract in the summer 2008.
A skilful central midfielder who has made several appearances for youth reserve and youth sides, Kay came to the Centre of Excellence from local junior side Borrowdale United.
Lynch is a tall central defender who hails from Blackburn and was an imposing figure for both youth and reserve teams last season as a second year apprentice.
Strong in the air and composed on the ball, Lynch played regular reserve team football in 2008/09 and in March 2009 was offered professional terms with the club.
