Weymouth remain rooted to the bottom of the Blue Square South table after a 2-1 defeat at the Camrose against Basingstoke Town in one of only three league games played on Saturday.
Fraser Franks gave `Stoke the lead after 15 minutes and then Phil Ruggles doubled that from the penalty spot right on half time.
Jordan Rose pulled one back for the Terras but it came with less than 3 minutes remaining and victory leaves Basingstoke in fourth spot.
Weymouth cause at the bottom wasn`t helped by Lewes` 2-1 Dripping Pan win over fifth-placed Bishop`s Stortford in which new signing Glen Southam gave the visitors a 31st minute lead on his first game back with the Blues.
But 8 minutes later Andy Pearson equalised for the Rooks and on 62 minutes Sam Crabb scored what proved to be the winner.
The other game between Maidenhead United and Weston-super-Mare ended goalless at York Road.
