Two New Bloods
26 January 2010 12:16:00

Blue Square North club Droylsden have signed former Liverpool defender Chris Butler.

Liverpool-born Butler, 25, had been playing in the League of Ireland for Sligo Rovers.

He began his career as a youth and reserve player for Liverpool. He later moved to Accrington Stanley where he played first-team football, and then moved to Barrow.

He moved to Sligo in 2008 and proved to be a top quality left-back as the season progressed, contributing massively to their season making twenty-two appearances.

However, in September 2008, emergency services were called to the scene of a crash which Butler (pictured) was involved, after a six-hour surgery, doctors confirmed he had shattered his knee cap and broke his shinbone.

Butler recently had wires taken of his knee and has been in training to help his fitness.

The Bloods have also registered former Dulwich Hamlet striker Eniola Oluwa, who has been playing for Gregorians in the Manchester League.
