Blue Square North club Droylsden have re-signed former favourite, goalkeeper Paul Phillips, from league rivals and Tameside neighbours Stalybridge Celtic.
Phillips started out as a Manchester United trainee, joining Bury on completing his youth training.
A cost-cutting sweep at Bury saw him released from where he joined Buxton, followed by a spell at Curzon Ashton until in 1999 he made the switch across Tameside to Droylsden.
It was whilst with the Bloods that he would make a name for himself, making nearly 400 appearances (even scoring a few goals from the penalty spot), and winning many accolades along the way.
Most recently he won a championship medal with Droylsden, helping them to the Blue Square North title and a spell in the Conference Premier.
After relegation after one season in the top flight of non-League, football Phillips was part of a wholesale clearout at the Butchers Arms, joining Celtic - much to the dismay of Droylsden fans.
However, despite being a regular at Bower Fold, he chose to return to the Bloods.
