Bloods Butcher Town
08 September 2009 08:53:00

Droylsden went to the top of the Blue Square North table on Monday night and made it an amazing thirty goals scored in nine games played after hammering 5-0 at the Butcher`s Arms on Monday night.

Dave Pace has certainly put together an impressive squad this season and the Bloods were, of course, oozing with confidence following their 7-1 win against Stafford Rangers on Saturday.

Perhaps the only surprise is that it took the home side 38 minutes to make the breakthrough when Liam Brownhill netted at the far post from ShaunWhalley's cross.

A minute before the break Whalley (pictured) added a second and then Tony Gray made it 3-0 after 64 minutes

The home side added to their tally with a second for Whalley 6 minutes later and Alex Meechan added a fifth goal for Droylsden with 3 minutes left.

Blue Square North new boys Gloucester City gained a useful point at Ewen Fields against Hyde United, thanks to an injury-time equaliser from Mike Symons.

Scott Mooney had given a decent-looking Hyde side a 36th minute lead they looked like holding on to until Symons pounced at the death.
