Eastbourne Borough`s re-arranged away FA Trophy Second Round tie at Cambridge United on Tuesday (January 12th) has again fallen a victim of the weather and the game is postponed.
A third attempt will be made to play the match at the Abbey Stadium on Tuesday, January 19th,
kick-off 7.45 which will mean Borough`s Blue Square Premier encounter against current table-toppers Stevenage Borough will be called off and need to be re-scheduled.
Provided the tie goes ahead on the 19th any replay would be at Priory Lane on Tuesday
January 26th, kick-off 7.45.
Boro are now set to face Cambridge United twice in four days with a BSP fixture at the Abbey this coming Saturday (January 16th).
Like all clubs Boro are facing a fixture back-log because of the big freeze.
Stevenage (home) and Altrincham (away) have still to be re-arranged. The Sports have already taken one available mid-week date by setting Tuesday March 16th to replay the abandoned Chester City game at the Deva Stadium.
A new date also needs to be found for the Sussex Senior Cup third round tie with Sidley United
at Priory Lane.
It was scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed because of the Trophy taken precedence.
Despite the early call off at Cambridge Priory Lane is also unplayable and that scuppered any hopes of a short notice re-instatement of the Sidley match.
And if Boro or Gateshead reach the Third Round of the Trophy then the league fixture against the Tynesiders at Priory Lane on Saturday, January 30th will also be off.
It is not only the first-team that are heading towards fixture congestion. The reserves, running out of midweek dates, have had to re-arrange the TotesportCombination fixture at Aldershot Town for Tuesday March 23rd kick-off 2.00 and24 hours later they will be at home (Wednesday March 24) to Leyton Orient Reserves, kick-off 7.30pm.
QPR Reserves away is pencilled in for Tuesday, April 17th, kick off 2pm
