Gateshead goalkeeper Paul Farman has won the Blue Square Premier `Player of the Month` award for October.
The summer signing from Blyth Spartans has been in tremendous form as his side have moved clear of the league’s relegation zone.
Farman (pictured) has kept four clean sheets in five matches after making his debut in Gateshead’s clash with Rushden & Diamonds in late September, in which he also managed a shut out.
Heed manager Ian Bogie was keen to point out the achievement reflected well on his whole defence but was also pleased for the youngster who celebrated his birthday on Monday. “It’s a nice surprise for Paul on his birthday but this just goes to show how hard the defence has worked along with the rest of the lads.
“He needs to keep his feet on the ground now ahead of the cup game with Brentford at the weekend, but I’m sure he’ll have a big future in the game,” Bogie added.
In the Blue Square South the award goes to Maidenhead United’s Will Hendry.
The former Millwall youngster hit five goals in six league matches, including a brace in the away match at Eastleigh.
Mark Danks from Northwich Victoria has won the award in the Blue Square North.
Danks picked up an FA Cup player of the round award for his goalscoring prowess last month and carried on where he left off in October.
The striker scored in all five of his appearances for Vics, including a hat trick against Chorley in the cup.
