Two Set to Depart Telford
13 October 2009 13:17:00

Midfielders Jamie Vermiglio and Steve Jagielka look set to depart Blue Square North club AFC Telford United.

Vermiglio is likely to sign for league rivals Northwich Victoria with Jagielka expected to sign for Zamaretto League Premier Division neighbours Hednesford Town.

Bucks` chairman Lee Carter said: "Jamie went to Chorley for four or five games to get match fitness so the decision to move to Northwich was a bit of a surprise."

Vermiglio started only thirty-eight league games in his two-and-a-half-year spell at the club and suffered a stress fracture and disc injury to his back in February last year.

The club referred him to Oswestry-based specialist Dr David Rees in the hope that the popular midfielder would regain fitness. However, he suffered a further groin injury at the start of the season.

Jagielka (pictured)) is likely to join up with the Cannock-based Pitmen after finding his first-team chances at Telford limited.

Carter added: "Steve is a fantastic character and we fully undertsand why he has departed. It has been a real joy to have him at the club. He wants and needs regular football and he just couldn't get that here. We wish him and his family all the very best for the future."
