The newly-named Hyde FC were being touted as potential contenders for promotion from the Blue Square Bet North following their link-up with mega-rich Barclays Premier League giants Manchester City.
And the signings made in the summer suggests Neil Tolson`s side would be serious challengers. However, they are certainly taking time to gel as Wednesday night`s 3-1 Tameside derby defeat at the Butcher`s Arms meant the Tigers had lost all of their opening four matches.
A crowd of 433 saw David McNiven give the Bloods a 37th minute lead that Ciaran Kilheeney doubled 10 minutes after the interval.
Andrew Smart pulled a goal back for Hyde from the penalty spot just before the hour-mark, but literally from the restart Steve Halford made it 3-1 to Dave Pace`s side and that`s how the scoreline ended, moving Droylsden up to seventh in the table.
Another team with a 100 per cent start to the new season are Redditch United. Unfortunately for Reds` fans, it is four defeats from four games after a hard-fought 3-2 loss at the Rockingham Triangle against a Corby Town side yet to lose.
But the Steelmen made very heavy weather of beating their struggling visitors.
Redditch arrived on the back of an embarrassing 9-0 hammering by Boston United last Saturday.
Redditch made several changes to the side that lost to the Pilgrims, but they fell behind after 40 minutes when the in-form Ben Mackey headed the Steelmen ahead.
The lead lasted only 2 minutes though before Matt Smith headed the equaliser from a corner.
But Corby were back in front in first half stoppage time when Danny Pitham fired home from the edge of the box.
Mackey made it 3-1 on 54 minutes with a close-range header, but Redditch refused to cave in this time and it took some fine saves by Corby`s veteran keeper Chris Mackenzie to prevent them getting back into the game.
However, they did just that, ironically when a Mackenzie error let in Dexter Ravenhill on 82 minutes.
But the Steelmen held out and now sit fourth in the table, behind the three 100 per centers AFC Telford United, Alfreton Town and Workington.
