For the derby this Saturday at the New Lawn between Forest Green Rovers and Bath City, Rovers` brewery partners Marstons are offering all adult fans a chance to kick footballs into a wheelie bin at half time for charity.
Anyone purchasing any a pint of any of their brand of draught beers, in the Green Man (Rovers public house at the stadium) before kick off, will receive a ticket for each pint purchased and all tickets will be included in a draw to select three fans, to go forward to the half time opportunity of kicking as many balls as possible into the wheelie bin that they can from ten chances around the half way circle.
The lucky winner will receive £100 in cash for their efforts, or a share if more than one of the fans is successful and more than one of them has the same number of balls in the bin.
If no one achieves any at all, then the £100 will be donated by Marstons towards monies being raised for three charities who will also benefit from a collection at the match. They are CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association) SANDS (Stillborn and Neonatal Death Syndrome) and Asthma UK. Martsons will get the collection underway by dropping £150 into the bin.
Rovers account manager at Marstons Julian Risby stated “We have been involved with the club since the stadium was built and though we often do special days incorporating events in the Green Man, this has to be a one of the best and most rewarding we have been involved with. We hope that the fans of both clubs can dig deep into their pockets to support these worthwhile charities”
