Blue Square Premier club Gateshead have released nine players, including experienced Football League pair Andy Parkinson and Chris Swailes, as manager Ian Bogie rebuilds his squad.
Central defender Swailes, 39, had two spells at Ipswich Town, while winger Parkinson (pictured), 31, played in big Wembley and Millennium Stadium finals for Tranmere Rovers and Grimsby Town.
The pair, who have amassed eleven League clubs between them, are joined through the exit door by former Hartlepool United and Bury goalkeeper Jim Provett.
Wide man Wayne Phillips' departure ends three years at the International Stadium, while left-back Phil Cave is also surplus to requirements.
Central defender Wayne Buchanan, midfielders James Sinclair and Neale McDermott plus diminutive striker Steven Richardson are the other players allowed to leave.
Loan pair Rikki Bains and Gavin Hurren have not been offered permanent deals and a minimum of seven new signings are expected during the close season.
"We only stayed up on the last day of the season so it was obvious the squad needed freshening up," added Bogie.
"Switching to a full-time squad will be a huge benefit and I expect us to push on next season in what is a very competitive league."
