Blue Square South club Lewes have released two players and have re-signed young midfielder Steve Brinkhurst on loan from Coca-Cola League One neighbours Brighton.
Brinkhurst spent a month on loan with the Rooks over Christmas and New Year, but barely played because of the weather.
Brinkhurst was on the substitutes’ bench for the first-team once last season but has yet to make his full debut for the Seagulls.
Scott Chamberlain and Ryan Timms have left the club to allow manager Steve Ibbitson flexibility in his budget to make further signings.
Chamberlain and Timms have both left after failing to hold down a regular first-team spot. Former Brighton midfielder Chamberlain has joined Eastbourne Town, while ex-youth team skipper Timms, who captained the side as a farewell gesture at Hastings, has linked up with Horsham YMCA.
