Blue Square South club Lewes` defender Grant Hall has signed for Coca-Cola League One neighbours Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season.
The 17-year-old, who had a trial with Gillingham earlier in the season has had a number of games with Albion reserves recently, and impressed enough to be asked to sign a pro contract.
Lewes` assistant-manager Jason Hopkinson said: "I'm absolutely chuffed for Grant. He's done really well. He was released by the Albion when he turned 16 but then joined me at Bridge View, and later with Lewes.
"He's not missed a training session and really improved. He's gained in confidence and become a better player.
"It's a message to our youth players to work hard, train hard and then you might have the chance to join the pro ranks.
"He's a wonderful lad and we all wish him every success."
