Midfielder/striker Lee Morris, who was part of the Burton Albion promotion-winning team in the Blue Square Premier last season, has moved on an emergency loan from Hereford to Forest Green Rovers.
Manager David Hockaday received another set back this week with the news that Mike Fowler's comeback had been threatened due to the ligaments in his damaged ankle being too flexible at the moment to stand up to the rigours of 1st team football.
In an attempt to compensate for this loss Morris, 29, has been signed until the 17th April, although he is unlikely to start at Rockingham Road against the Poppies.
The good news is that Lee Ayres is back in training and Mark Preece is back in contention to replace Ollie Thorne who had his nose broken during the match at Gateshead.
Commenting on Rovers` midweek 3-1 defeat, Hockaday was unhappy with the overall performance from his players on Tuesday at Gateshead and in particular their 2nd half showing. He wants to see a response similar in commitment from the Gateshead players to their 8 - 0 drubbing. "After our performances against York City and Luton Town when the lads were excellent the attitude all over from the players on Tuesday was not acceptable. Losing with dignity and passion is the least any player can be grateful for but it was missing in abundance at Gateshead.
“We all must apologise to our supporters for a woeful display and go out with a strong mental attitude on Saturday. The supporters will expect nothing less and I demand it from them."
