Gateshead Organise Wednesday Friendly
03 February 2010 12:35:00

Blue Square Premier club Gateshead will play a hastily arranged friendly against skilltrainingltd Northern League leaders Spennymoor Town at the Brewery Field on Wednesday night.

The game will see triallist Wayne Buchanan feature along with players who did not start in the FA Trophy game at Barrow on Tuesday.

Buchanan (pictured), a 28-year-old central defender, began his career at Bolton Wanderers before he returned to his native Ireland to spend several years at Lisburn Distillery.

A brief spell in Australia with Gold Coast United has now seen the Northern Ireland under-21 international return to England looking to secure a permanent deal at Gateshead.

New signings Paul Heckingbottom, Peter Winn and Andy Ferrell will all start at Spennymoor along with recent capture Brian Wake.

Wednesday's game kicks-off at 7:30pm with admission prices reduced to £2 adult and £1 concessions.
