Blue Square North club Ilkeston Town have been given more time to get the New Manor Ground up to scratch, having successfully been given more time to extend their dressing rooms to the 31st May.
The club have also got to upgrade their floodlights to comply with the Conference standards.
Football league neighbours Chesterfield have stepped in to help the Robins cause, the Coca-Cola League Two side are moving to a new stadium next season and have gifted Ilkeston their old lights which would save the club between £12 and £14,000. The only thing is they can't have them before the end of the season,so they have had to go back to the FA Ground Grading Committee to ask for another extension to 31st May.
Robins`secretary Keith Burnand said: “Our quote for £40,000 for the dressing rooms is a lot of money which we have not got, so they are applying for a grant to complete the work.”
The embattled club have not had a home league game since the end of October which as not helped the clubs cause.
Burnand aded: “We are extremely grateful to Chesterfield Football Club for their kind gesture in gifting us the floodlights.
“But if they do not get the work carried out in time they could face having their application for membership of the Football Conference rejected for the 2010/11 season.”
