Blue Square Premier rivals Rushden & Diamonds and Crawley Town have agreed to extend Jefferson Louis’ loan spell, so that he stays at Nene Park until the end of the season.
The striker joined Rushden & Diamonds on loan in November. However, he unfortunately got injured in his first game for the Diamonds and that, combined with postponements due to the weather, meant a fragmented early loan spell for the Dominican.
Despite the stop start nature of his loan spell, Louis has scored three times, in six starts and one substitute appearance.
Diamonds` manager Justin Edinburgh commented on Saturday’s two-goal performance: “I think his performance was very good, as was the team’s. Before the game we knew we were pretty thin on the ground so we were looking to extend the loan anyway, if you see a player putting in that kind of performance, you want to keep him. We know Jeff and he knows us and he’s settled in well.”
