Blue Square Premier club Barrow have made a major swoop with the signing of striker Nick Chadwick from struggling league rivals Chester City.
Chadwick, 27, has penned an eighteen-month contract with the Bluebirds after passing a medical at Holker Street.
Chadwick began his career with Everton in 2001, making fourteen appearances before being sold to Plymouth Argyle for £250,000 in 2005 after loan spells with Derby and Millwall.
He spent three years at Home Park before joining Hereford and then Shrewbury. He signed for Chester in August but has opted to move due the financial plight of the Deva Stadium outfit, having cancelled his contract there by mutual consent.
Barrow beat off competition from several other clubs, with his wish to stay in the north for once playing to the Bluebirds` advantage.
Chadwick is a major signing for the Holker Street outfit and joins his former Chester team-mate Gregg Blundell, who made the same move recently.
