Blue Square Premier club Barrow have signed former Blackpool, Macclesfield and Dunfermline winger Simon Wiles in time for FA Trophy eligibility.
Wiles, 24, began his career with Blackpool before moving to Moss Rose under Paul Ince. Having joined Dunfermline in August 2008, he suffered an injury while in Scotland and was released in August 2009. He has also recently had trials in the United States.
Barrow`s joint-manager Dave Bayliss described Wiles as the ideal replacement for Marc Goodfellow, who has rejoined Coca-Cola League Two side Burton Albion after his successful loan spell.
Wiles' international clearance was received on Thursday afternoon allowing the Preston-based wide-man to sign papers in the evening ahead of the 12 noon Friday deadline for FA Trophy round two eligibility.
