Coca-Cola League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge have announced the signing of striker Phil Walsh from Blue Square South club Dorchester Town.
The 25-year-old, who can also play in the centre of defence, has netted four goals this season, and moves to the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Stadium on a contract until May 2012.
Walsh is a powerful player who began his career at Almondsbury before joining Clevedon Town in January 2003.
His father, Alan, also played for Clevedon and they became the first father and son to play for Clevedon in the Southern League. He switched to Taunton Town in September that year then rejoined Clevedon in November 2003 before re-signing for Almondsbury in the summer of 2004.
From there he moved to then Southern League side Bath City in 2005. Despite scoring some crucial goals as Bath won the league title he was loaned out to Paulton Rovers, as well as two spells at Tiverton Town.
He joined Newport County during the 2008 close season but with first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Blue Square South side, he was happy to make Tiverton his temporary home in September before signing permanently at Ladysmead in December 2008.
Having scored fourteen goals in his three spells at Tivvy he moved south to Dorchester in March 2009 for a small fee
He played his last game for Dorchester, currently under the caretaker-management of former Daggers` defender Ashley Vickers, in the New Year`s Day fixture with local rivals Weymouth.
Daggers` manager John Still said: "I'm delighted to make the signing.
"We will be paying a fee for him, but it's only a small one.
"He is a six foot three inch centre forward and will add to our front-line.
"We haven't got the biggest of squads, so signing Phil definitely strengthens that."
Besides the small fee, the Daggers will be playing a pre-season fixture at the Jewson Avenue Stadium prior to the 2010/11 season.
