Monday`s Blue Square North Review....
28 December 2009 18:01:00

Fleetwood Town recovered from Boxing Day`s mauling by Southport to move to within six points of their neighbours at the top of the Blue Square North table after beating Vauxhall Motors, who dropped to bottom place as a consequence, on Monday.

Nick Rogan gave the home side the lead after 31 minutes only for Lee Furlong to equalise after 58 minutes.

But then Adam Warlow took over, proceeding to notch a hat trick with goals in the 62nd, 64th and 79th minutes.

Josh Wilson pulled another back for Motors from the penalty spot after a foul by Steve McNulty 6 minutes from time, but they were well beaten on the day.

Hinckley United continued their excellent Christmas with a 2-0 home win over AFC Telford United to move into third place, two points behind Fleetwood with a game in hand.

Matt West broke the deadlock by putting the Knitters in front just before the hour-mark and Lee Collins made sure of the three points with a second with 2 minutes remaining.

Southport had a frustrating afternoon as their game against play-off chasing Stalybridge Celtic was abandoned.

With 5 minutes remaining in the game at Bower Fold, two sets of floodlights failed, halting proceedings with the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0.

All the other games were postponed.
