Blue Square South club Welling United have announced the signing of Chris Saunders and the arrival of Carl Jenkinson on `work experience`.
Saunders started his career at Charlton Athletic, featuring in their Academy side for many years.
The young player then went on to have spells at Fisher Athletic and more recently league rivals Thurrock.
Jenkinson (pictured) is a cultured defender who shone for Charlton in the centre in an FA Youth Cup win against Blackburn Rovers, but is equally comfortable on the right, and has also operated on the left.
From Buckhurst Hill, in Essex, Jenkinson has been on the Charlton books since the age of nine, and in addition to seven reserve games in 2008/09, he represented England under-17s.
