Terry Brown, manager of Blue Square Premier new boys AFC Wimbledon, has completed the signing of 20-year-old Ross Montague after he successfully completed a thorough medical.
Montague (pictured), who came through the Brentford youth ranks, made his debut against Nottingham Forest in April 2007 and has subsequently spent loan periods at Sutton United, Welling United and Basingstoke Town.
Brown said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the arrival of Ross Montague to complete our squad of twenty-two players which now gives us cover in every position. Ross is a player we have tracked over the last couple of years. He is a tall strong aggressive front runner with two good feet and an eye for goal.
“He is still in the process of recovering from a knee injury he suffered last year and although he has completed a full pre-season with Brentford he needs to get match fit over the next four weeks. Although he will not be involved over this weekend I hope that he will be able to play at least 60 minutes for the reserves next Tuesday.”
