Barrett Signs for Havant

Blue Square Bet South club Havant & Waterlooville have signed experienced midfielder Neil Barrett.

He was originally an England Schoolboy international and began his career as a youngster with Chelsea before moving to Portsmouth in 2001. He went on to make twenty-six appearances for Pompey.

Spells followed at Dundee, Livingston and Woking before he joined Ebbsfleet United in 2007, and in his first season there the industrious midfielder helped them win the FA Trophy.

In June 2009 Barrett joined York City and totaled sixty-three appearances for the Minstermen and scored their goal in their FA Cup Third Round defeat at Premiership side Stoke City.

Following his release by York, Barrett went on trial with Luton Town and played the first half of their first pre-season friendly at Hitchin Town.

He subsequently went on trial with Ryman League Premier Division side Kingstonian before joining the Hawks.
