Nicky Law, manager of Conference Premier club Alfreton Town,
has significantly strengthened his squad with the addition of experienced
former Cambridge United central midfield player Tom Shaw.
A former England `C` international, Shaw, 26, has signed a
two-year deal with the Reds.
He began his career with Nottingham Forest's youth academy
before moving to the youth team at Rushden & Diamonds where he progressed
to play in the Football League for the now defunct club.
After a loan spell with the also defunct Nuneaton Borough,
Shaw signed a one-year contract with Mansfield Town but moved on to Tamworth
and then Kidderminster Harriers in 2010.
He made forty-two appearances for the Harriers before
joining Cambridge United on a two-year deal in 2011 where he made seventy-nine
appearances, scoring thirteen times.
