Exciting New Look to City Production
14 August 2010 11:01:00

There will be an exciting new look to an old stager at St George’s Lane this weekend.

‘City News’, the match day programme of Worcester City, will be unveiled at Saturday’s game with Gainsborough Trinity following a full makeover during the summer months.

As well as increasing its size to a massive 36 pages the first issue, featuring new signing Kevin O’Connor on the cover, is packed with loads of new articles, photos and stats aimed at giving the reader a new insight to life at the Lane.

As well as views and opinions from the boardroom, changing rooms, and press box, City News will also contain new features looking at the new commercial department and all of the new faces Carl Heeley has recruited over the summer break. Julian Pugh will be looking to continue his excellent work from the ‘Official History’ book with the new ‘21st Century Boys’, whilst BBC Hereford & Worcester’s Peter McMillan will give his views on Englands World Cup Failure.

If all these new features weren’t enough, the programme’s centre pages will include a pull out photograph of the 2010/11 Worcester City Squad, just right for any City Supporters’ office wall.

New Programme Editor Rob Bazley said: “When I was asked to take over the editing of City News I was keen to capture the positive vibe that is circulating the Lane at the moment. I have tried to develop a programme that can communicate with its fans giving them a real insight into what is happening within their club, as well as the players who they will watch each week.”

Rob also explained that this has been backed by increased advertising in the programme for the season: “It is vital that we attract new sponsors to the club and already we have more sponsorship in the programme than for many years. That said, there are still loads of other opportunities so any supporters who want to help the club should e-mail programme@worcestercityfc.co.uk .”

City News will be available at Saturday's game priced at just £2.50.
