With the football over, many would consider the close season a quiet time for clubs and managers. That is not so and Eastbourne Borough management duo Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood have already started to formulate plans for the new season.
The Blue Square Premier club`s Head Coach Nick Greenwood confirms: "Garry and I have began the process of meetings with the existing playing squad and potential new signings. To date we have taken up the options on their contracts with Neil Jenkins, Matt and Nathan Crabb. Dan Brown will be starting the second of his two-year contract with the football club and terms have also been agreed with Darren Baker."
He continued: "Marc Pullan and Liam Enver-Marum have not been retained and we wish both players every success in their future careers. Marc has been with us since 2006 and has played over 200 hundred games, playing a vital role in our promotion to the Conference National and securing our status for a third consecutive season."
Indeed Pullan (pictured) has played a huge part in the club`s recent success. He joined the club from Worthing in January 2006 and made an instant impact during a season that saw the club flirting with the Blue Square South relegation zone. 2006/07 saw Pullan form a formidable partnership with Darren Baker that over the following seasons saw eventual play-off success and survival at Blue Square Premiership status. Pullan played 210 times for 'The Sports', scoring only two goals. However, the amount that he prevented from ending up in the Boro net are innumerable.
The club offers thanks to Pullan for the contribution he has made to the club's recent success. His place in its history is assured.
Thanks also go to Liam Enver-Marum for his efforts whist at Priory Lane. He scored fifteen goals in forty-nine-game this season
On going discussions will continue throughout this and next week with the remainder of the first-team squad, and further details will be released at a later date.
