AFC Telford United have today announced that club captain Stuart Whitehead has been placed in charge of first-team affairs for Saturday`s final Blue Square North game against Vauxhall Motors.
He will be assisted by Anton Joseph.
The Board of Directors have held meetings with first-team manager Rob Smith and assistant-manager Larry Chambers this week.
The outcome of these meetings is now subject to final legal formalities.
Telford appointed Smith and Chambers in February 2006, and the management duo helped the Bucks avoid relegation from the Unibond Premier in their first season.
They earned promotion to the Blue Square North the following season and came close to gaining promotion to the Blue Square Premier last season.
However, after another failed promotion charge this term, the club's board have moved to show Smith and Chambers the exit door at New Bucks Head.
