Newport County maintained their amazing twenty-one point lead at the top of the Blue Square South with a hard-fought 1-0 win over play-off chasing Braintree Town at Spytty Park on Saturday.
Sam Foley grabbed the all-important goal in the 62nd minute in front of a crowd of 2,117.
Braintree stay in the top five where Chelmsford City and Bath City also won - Thurrock were without a game.
