Minstermen and Steelmen to Pay Tribute to Former Favourite
29 January 2010 12:29:00

York City and Corby Town will make floral tributes in memory of former striker David Longhurst at this weekends FA Trophy fixture.

During the half time interval, wreaths will be laid in the goalmouth in front of the David Longhurst Stand almost twenty years after the player tragically died of a heart attack in City's match against Lincoln City.

David's parents, Vic and Pat are residents of Corby and will attend the game with their son Mark to witness the ceremony. The wreaths will be laid by representatives of supporters of both clubs and then put on display to fans after the game.
